Section 03 ENGINE Subsection 11 (CVT)
GENERAL
NOTE: For better understanding, the following illustrations are taken with engine out of vehicleTo perform the following instructions, it is not necessary to remove engineThis CVT is lubrication freeNever lubricate any componentsDuring assemblyinstallation, use the torque values and service products as in the exploded viewsClean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure
DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT
Removal
Remove CVT cover (refer to CVT COVER further)There are two possibilities to remove the drive beltYou can remove the drive pulley or the driven pulley (see the corresponding sections further for removal and installation procedure)
Inspection
Inspect belt for cracks, fraying or abnormal wearReplace if necessaryWARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (ex locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
