Section 10 BRAKES Subsection 02 (HYDRAULIC BRAKES)
All Models NOTE: At this time, check hoses and fittings for damages or leaksDisconnect flexible hose no15 from reservoir and plug the end to avoid brake fluid spillageRemove Banjo bolt no9 and sealing washers no8 retaining brake hose no25 to master cylinder no28Discard sealing washersUnhook push rod yoke no33 from brake pedal no38Remove bolts no29 retaining master cylinder to frame
Rear Master Cylinder Remove boot no31 from master cylinderRemove snap ring no30 and push rod no32 using snap ring pliersRemove master piston and spring
Inspection and Lubrication
Discard any remaining fluid inside reservoirClean reservoir, master pistons and master cylinders thoroughly with clean brake fluidCheck: boots for crack springs for damage piston cups for wear, deterioration or damage master cylinders and pistons for scoring, scratches or other damageChange part(s) if necessaryCheck locking pin no34 for excessive wear, replace if necessaryNOTE: If master cylinder is damaged or leaking, replace as an assembly
