Section 09 SUSPENSION Subsection 02 (FRONT SUSPENSION)
Inspection
Check lower A-arm for distortion or damageReplace A-arms if necessaryMove A-arm from side to sideThere should be no noticeable side playReplace bushings if necessaryMove A-arm up and downThere should be no noticeable playReplace bushings if necessaryThe following items are performed when the A-arm is removedInspect pivot bushings for wear or damagesReplace bushings if necessaryCheck ball joint rubber on lower A-arm for crack or any other damageInspect ball joint end for damagesEnsure it's moving freelyReplace ball joint as required, see below for procedure

Remove cotter pin and castellated nut retaining lower A-arm no3 to ball joint on the knuckle
