WATER PUMP HOUSING
Removal
Drain cooling systemRemove: engine inlet hose no11 formed tube no21 between fitting inlet no22 and water pump housing no7 water pump housing screws no23 water pump housing no7 with rubber ring no24
WATER PUMP SHAFT
The water pump shaft no26 should be removed only if the ceramic seal no27 is defective or if its end is scratched by faulty bearing no28
Removal
Remove: magneto housing no6 water pump impeller no25 needle pin no29 and distance sleeve no30Extract the water pump shaft no26Remove bearings no28 and oil seal no31Discard oil seal
Inspection
Check housing for cracks or spots of corrosionChange housing if necessaryCheck if the rubber ring is brittle, hard or damagedIf so, replace by new one
Installation
For installation, reverse the removal procedureInstall new oil seal no31This seal must be replaced each time the shaft is removedNOTE: The ceramic seal must be installed into water pump housing before inserting the shaft in its final position
