Section 03 ENGINE QUEST Subsection 11 (CVT)
GENERAL
NOTE: For better understanding, the following illustrations are taken with engine out of vehicleTo perform the following instructions, it is not necessary to remove engineThis CVT is lubrication freeNever lubricate any components except drive pulley one-way clutchDuring assemblyinstallation, use the torque values and service products as in the exploded viewsClean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure
CAUTION: These pulleys have metric threadsDo not use SAE threads pullerAlways tighten puller by hand to ensure that the drive pulley has the same type of threads (metric vs SAE) prior to fully tightening
BELT REPLACEMENT
Removal
Remove: LH engine side panel LH foot pegUnscrew clamp retaining CVT cover to CVT exhaust boxRemove: screws no1 with rubber bushings no2 CVT cover no3 and gasket no4WARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (ex locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, cotter pin, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
