Ring End Gap
RING END GAP MINIMUM (new) UPPER COMPRESSION RING LOWER COMPRESSION RING OIL SCRAPER RING 0.15 mm (.006 in) 0.15 mm (.006 in) 0.15 mm (.006 in)
CAUTION: Ensure that top and second rings are not interchangedNOTE: Use ring expander to prevent breakage during installationThe oil ring must be installed by handCheck that rings rotate smoothly after installationSpace the piston ring end gaps 120 apart and do not align the gaps with the piston pin bore or the thrust side axisA A

Measure position for ring end gap in the area of to 16 mm (.315 to .630 in) from top of cylinderNOTE: In order to correctly position the ring in the cylinder, use piston as pusherUsing feeler gauge, check ring end gapReplace ring if gap exceeds above described specified tolerance
