Section 08 SUSPENSION Subsection 03 (REAR SUSPENSION)
Inspection
Check: trailing arms for cracks, bending or other damages bearings for smooth and free operationReplace all damaged parts
Torque the shock absorber bolt to 48 Nm (35 lbfft)Install wheelCAUTION: Always use the recommended wheel nuts (PN 250 100 039)Using different nut could cause damages to the rim
Installation
Insert drive shaft end into trailing armInstall the trailing arm on frameInstall the lower shock absorber bolt to support the trailing armDo not torque yetFrame Side Apply Loctite 243 on trailing arm nut threadsInstall the trailing arm nut and torque it to 190 Nm (140 lbfft)Apply thin coat of Loctite MAXICOAT (PN 293 800 105) on the remaining threadsInstall circlip, torsion bar lever, washer and new elastic nutTorque the elastic nut to 120 Nm (89 lbfft)Install protective capWheel Side Install: wheel hub washer castellated nutTorque castellated nut to 185 Nm (136 lbfft) and further tighten until its grooves align with the next cotter pin holeInstall new cotter pin then the wheel capNOTE: The longer end of cotter pin must be folded over shaft end
