REAR DIFFERENTIAL
Removal
Install jack stand under differential to support the vehicle during the following procedureRemove: rear wheels trailing arms drive shafts central protector no8 lower differential bolts no12 hitch upper differential bolts no13 rear propeller shaft bolt no14 and washer no15 differential no10

Tighten vise to force bearing caps in
Disassembly
Ring Gear Removal To change ring gear no20: Unscrew the drain plug no21 and empty differential Unscrew the TORX screws no22, then separate half housings Extract ring gear out of half housingNOTE: Keep track of shims on each end of gearTo assembly, reverse the removal procedurePaying attention to the following detailsNOTE: If pinion gear, ring gear, housing or bearing is (are) changed, recenter the ring gear in the housing before final assemblySee PINION GEAR AND RING GEAR RECENTERING belowVerify condition of half housing seal no23Change seal if necessaryCheck all bearings and all oil sealsChange them if necessary
