Section 06 DRIVE TRAIN Subsection 02 (FRONT DRIVE)
Move the differential forward to disconnect the propeller shaftRemove the differential from the RH sideUnscrew bolt no13 retaining the propeller shaft adaptor no14
Install the backlash measurement tool (PN 529 035 665) at the end of the pinion gear
Inspection
Turn front differential gear with finger; it should turn smoothlyReplace if necessaryCheck backlash, see BACKLASH PROCEDURE further in this sectionCheck if oil seals are brittle, hard or damagedReplace if necessary
Installation
