STARTING SYSTEM
BATTERY TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM: DISCHARGED OR WEAK BATTERY CAUSE 1Battery posts andor cable terminal oxidized2Loose or bad connectionsREMEDY Clean and coat with dielectric greaseCheck wiring and connector cleanliness, damaged or short circuitReplaceLoad Test
This is the best test of the batteries conditionUse load testing device that has an adjustable loadApply load of times the ampere-hour rating of the batteryAt 14 seconds into the test, check battery voltage; if battery is in good condition, it will have at least 10.5 Vdc
REMOVAL
Disconnect BLACK (-) cable first, then the RED (+) cable
