Section 03 ENGINE Subsection 12 (CVT)
GENERAL
NOTE: For better understanding, the following illustrations are taken with engine out of vehicleTo perform the following instructions, it is not necessary to remove engineThis CVT is lubrication freeNever lubricate any components except drive pulley one-way clutchDuring assemblyinstallation, use the torque values and service products as in the exploded viewsClean threads before applying threadlockerRefer to SELF-LOCKING FASTENERS and LOCTITE APPLICATION at the beginning of this manual for complete procedure
CAUTION: These pulleys have metric threadsDo not use imperial thread pullerAlways tighten puller by hand to ensure that the drive pulley has the same type of threads (metric vs imperial) before tightening completely
BELT REPLACEMENT
Removal
Remove: LH engine side panel LH footwellUnscrew clamps retaining CVT cover hosesRemove: screws no1 with mounted rubber bushings CVT cover no2 and gasket no3
WARNING
Torque wrench tightening specifications must strictly be adhered toLocking devices (ex locking tabs, elastic stop nuts, self-locking fasteners, cotter pin, etc must be installed or replaced with new ones where specifiedIf the efficiency of locking device is impaired, it must be renewed
