Section 09 BRAKES Subsection 02 (HYDRAULIC BRAKES)
Disassembly
Remove brake pads, see the following sectionRemove: caliper bracket no32 slide pins no33 pad spring no34Place rag over pistonPlace caliper body with piston down and apply small squirts of air pressure to the fluid inlet to remove piston
Installation
For the installation, reverse the removal procedure, pay attention to the following detailsUse new sealing washers when installing Banjo bolt retaining brake hose to caliperInstall caliper to knuckle with the new self-locking boltsIf hose was disconnected, bleed the brakesCheck for leaks and make sure the brakes operate normally before driving
WARNING
Do not use high pressure air or bring nozzle too close to inletRemove piston sealCAUTION: Be careful not to damage piston sliding surfaceClean piston grooves, caliper cylinder and piston with clean brake fluidClean slide pins with brake cleaner and rag
