Section 08 SUSPENSION Subsection 03 (REAR SUSPENSION)
Measure shaft diameter on bearing contact surfaceIf it is lower than 19.7 mm (.776 in), replace shaft
Installation
Installation is essentially the reverse of removal procedureHowever, pay attention to the following detailsInsert O-rings no12 in the groove into framePlace O-rings no18 on bushings no17 then install the swing armInstall the swing arm shaft no16 then push the O-rings no18 between frame and bushingsEnsure the flat sides of shaft are well positionned in frameV02J0SA
1Unfasten from swing arm
Detach brake line from swing armDiscard screwsOn the LH side, unscrew both nuts no14 and no15Remove the swing arm shaft no16Pull swing arm no2 out of frame
Inspection
Check condition of swing armInspect for distortion, bending, pitting, cracks or other damageReplace swing arm with new one if damagedCheck condition of bushings no17 with their needle bearings and O-rings nos18 and 12Change if necessaryV02J0TA
