Using suitable punch, gently punch seal carrier ass'y down alternating each sidePush down just enough to free the C-clipUsing small tool, remove the C-clip
Inspection
Check the following: Compression bumpers for chipping, cracking or missing O-rings for nicks, cuts or cracks Piston rod for straightness, wear, nicks or burrs Seal carrier and rod seals Piston seal ring for wear Valve discs for kinks or waves Innner walls of shock absorber and reservoir for scratches, burrs or excessive wear Bladder for tears, cracks or holesReplace any defectiveworn part
