Section 07 STEERING SYSTEM Subsection 02 (STEERING SYSTEM)
HANDLEBAR
Removal
Remove: steering cover no8 steering clamp mounting bolts no9, reinforcements no10 and steering clamps no11 handlebar no12NOTE: Remove throttle lever, multi-function switch and handlebar guards from the handlebar if it is replaced with new one
Inspection
Inspect steering column for cracks, bending or other damagesReplace if any problem is detectedCheck if the O-rings no23 are brittle, hard or otherwise damagedReplace if necessaryCheck steering column bearing for excessive play and smooth operationReplace if necessarySee further in this section for the proper procedure
Installation
For the installation, reverse the removal procedureNOTE: Install new cotter pinBoth ends of cotter pin must be folded
Inspection
Inspect the handlebar for damage, cracks or bending, replace if any problem is detected
