Section 05 ELECTRICAL Subsection 02 (OVERVIEW)
OVERVIEW
GENERAL OPERATION INFORMATION
The electrical system consist of different subsystems where some are inter-related: charging system starting system ignition system accessoriesThe following gives an outline of each componentsVoltage RegulatorRectifier
A 3-phase full-wave series-type voltage regulator rectifier receives the AC voltage and rectifies (converts) it into DCThe voltage is also regulated to maximum of 14.7 0.4 volts (DC)
Battery
The battery supplies the entire vehicleTherefore, DC current only is used in the entire electrical system
STARTING SYSTEM
When ignition switch is turned on and start button is pressed, signal is sent to the starting solenoidThe battery then supply the starter through the starting solenoid to start the engine
