The oil pump is located on the engine MAG side (refer to ENGINE OIL PRESSURE REGULATOR)

Remove: engine from vehicle (refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION) water pump housing (refer to COOLING SYSTEM) magneto housing cover (refer to MAGNETO SYSTEM) NOTE: The following steps to remove the drive gears (no10 to no16) are not necessary if only replacing the oil pump retaining ring no12 then drive gear no.11 CAUTION: Never use the retaining ring second timeAlways replace with new oneNOTE: Drive gear is snapped on needle pinThis needle pin passes through the balancing shaft needle pin no10 distance sleeve no16 thrust washer no14 pin no13 intermediate gear no15
