FUEL TANK
Removal
Disconnect BLACK (-) cable from battery
Inspection
Visual Inspect fuel tank for any damage or cracks which may result in fuel leaksIf so, replace tank with new onePressure Test Refer to Fuel System Pressurization for complete detailed procedure
WARNING
Always disconnect battery exactly in the specified order, BLACK (-) cable firstIt is recommended to disconnect electrical connections prior to disconnecting fuel linesDrain fuel tank no3 by unplugging reserve fuel hose no8 on fuel valve (top hose)NOTE: To accelerate fuel tank draining and ensure complete draining, remove cap no6Remove following items from bodyRefer to BODY for complete detailed procedure: steering cover shifter guide indicator front inner fenders seat fuel tank cover front bumper front fender with rackUnplug fuel hoses from tank and disconnect fuel vent line no5Remove both fuel tank top screws, as shown in the next photo
