Section 03 ENGINE (CYLINDER AND HEAD)
Installation
For installation, reverse the removal procedurePaying attention to the following detailsApply engine oil in cylinder boreInstall new gasket no20 between cylinder and crankcaseUsing ring compressor, slide piston no21 into cylinderInstall bolts no18 first, then flanged bolts no4, then flanged nuts no7
Removal
Remove cylinder no6Remove both piston pin circlips no23 then push piston pin no24 out of piston no21Detach piston from connecting rod
Inspection
Inspect piston for scoring, cracking or other damagesUsing micrometer, measure piston at 16 mm (58 in) perpendicularly (90) to piston pin axis
Removal
Remove cylinder no6Pull hydraulic lifters no22 out of crankcase
Inspection
Check for excessive clearance between lifter and its bore or straightnessA telescoping gauge and micrometer are used to check the lifter bore clearanceSubtract lifter diameter from lifter bore diameter to determine clearanceLIFTER AND LIFTER BORE mm (in) SERVICE LIMIT Lifter Lifter bore 22.19 mm (.874 in) 22.27 mm (.876 in)
