Inspection
Rocker Arm Inspect each rocker arm for cracks and scored friction surfacesIf so, replace partsMeasure rocker bore diameterIf diameter is out of specification, change the rocker armVALVE SPRING
Removal
Remove: cylinder head no5 rocker arm no12Compress valve spring no13Use valve spring compressor clamp (PN 529 035 724) and valve spring compressor cup (PN 529 035 725)Remove valve cotters no14Remove spring compressor clamp, valve spring retainer no15 and valve spring

Check valve spring for rust or corrosion, free length and squareness13.715 mm (.540 in) 13.740 mm (.541 in) 13.765 mm (.542 in)
