Section 08 SUSPENSION Subsection 02 (FRONT SUSPENSION)
Inspect pivot bushings for wear or damagesReplace bushings if necessaryCheck ball joint rubber on lower A-arm for crack or any other damageInspect ball joint end for damagesEnsure it's moving freelyReplace ball joint as required, see below for procedure
Installation
For assembly, reverse the disassembly procedureHowever, pay attention to the followingInstall lower A-arm to frame and torque nuts to 63 Nm (46 lbfft)Attach lower A-arm no2 to knuckleInstall castellated nut and new cotter pinBoth ends of cotter pin must be foldedTorque to 45 Nm (33 lbfft)Install wheel(s)NOTE: Do not interchange left and right tiresThe tires are directional and their rotation must be kept in specific direction for proper operation
Removal
Remove cotter pin and castellated nut retaining lower A-arm no3 to ball joint on the knuckle
