Adjust and lock micrometer to the piston dimensionPosition the dial bore gauge at 16 mm (58 in) below cylinder top edge, measuring perpendicularly (90) to piston pin axisRead the measurement on the cylinder bore gaugeThe result is the exact pistoncylinder wall clearanceIf clearance exceeds specified tolerance, replace cylinder or reboreSee previous tableNOTE: Make sure the cylinder bore gauge indicator is set exactly at the same position as with the micrometer, otherwise the reading will be false
Installation
1Micrometer set to the piston dimension
With the micrometer set to the dimension, adjust cylinder bore gauge to the micrometer dimension and set the indicator to (zero)
For installation, reverse the removal procedurePaying attention to the following detailsApply engine oil on the piston pinInsert piston pin into piston and connecting rodSecure piston pin with both piston pin circlipsNOTE: Do not align the end gap of the piston pin circlips with the cutout in the piston bore
