Start engine and let idle for few minutesEnsure oil filter area and drain plug areas are not leakingStop engineWait while to allow oil to flow down to crankcase then check oil levelRefill as necessaryDispose of the oil as per your local environmental regulations
Block the end of the muffler with shop rag and start the engineMomentarily increase engine RPM several times to purge accumulated carbon out of the mufflerStop engine and allow muffler to coolRemove shop rag and reinstall the clean out plug
SPARK ARRESTER
The muffler must be periodically purged of accumulated carbonSelect well-ventilated area and make sure the muffler is coolPlace transmission on park positionRemove the clean out plug
WARNING
Never run engine in an enclosed areaNever perform this operation immediately after the engine has been run because exhaust system is very hotMake sure that there are no combustible materials in the areaWear eye protector and glovesNever stand behind the vehicle while purging exhaust systemRespect all applicable laws and regulationsCheck the exhaust system for damage, cracks or leaks (exhaust pipe)Repair or change if necessary
