Loosen jam nut no12Unscrew and remove LH pivot bolt no13
Inspection
Check condition of swing armInspect for distortion or damageCheck oil seals no11 for wear or damageReplace swing arm if necessaryCheck condition of bearings no10Make sure they turn smoothlyReplace if necessaryEnsure outer race of bearing fits tightly inside swing arm pivot
Installation
Installation is essentially the reverse of removal procedureHowever, pay attention to the following detailsJoin the rear axle and the swing arm togetherSee the REAR AXLE section for the proper procedurePack cone bearing cavities with synthetic grease (PN 293 550 010)Apply grease (PN 293 550 019) to splines before insert the end of the propeller shaft into differentialPush rear axle assembly toward the engine to engage propeller shaft splines and position the swing arm in the frameNOTE: Do not forget to pass the brake line over the swing armLine up cone bearing and install RH pivot bolt1 2
