STATIC TEST: CONTINUITY 1Disconnect the magneto wiring harness connectorWith good multimeter (preferably digital one), place the meter test probes onto the stator wire leads AC-1 and AC-2 of the statorThe resistance should be 0.3 0.2
STATIC TEST: INSULATION With the stator leads disconnected, insert either meter test probe onto AC-1 and ground the other meter test probe to the engine or the stator iron core and note the readingThere should be no continuity (infinity) between the stator insulated coils and groundIf there is reading, the stator coils andor the wiring from the coils is grounded and needs to be replacedrepaired respectively

2Place either meter test probe into the remaining stator lead (AC-3) and note the resistance (same as step no1)If the readings are out of specification, the stator will need to be replaced
