Section 04 FUEL SYSTEM Subsection 03 (CARBURETOR AND FUEL PUMP)
CARBURETOR
CAUTION: Although some jets can be replaced by other jets from other carburetors, such modifications shouldn't be performedThey can greatly affect engine calibration and can cause severe damage to engineUse only recommended jetting specific for this carburetor
Removal
Carburetor Removal Turn fuel valve OFFRemove seatDisconnect BLACK (-) cable from battery
Unscrew choke cable then remove the choke plunger from the throttle bodyTo unscrew the choke plastic nut from carburetor, use the special choke nut tool (PN 529 035 660)NOTE: Take care do not loose the choke plungerIf so, check plunger for damages and replace it if necessaryUnplug air box breather hose and fuel hoseUnscrew carburetor bracket (if so equipped)Turn carburetor to place the throttle cable housing on the top then remove the throttle cableSee Throttle Cable further in this sectionPull out carburetor
WARNING
Always disconnect battery exactly in the specified order, BLACK (-) cable firstIt is recommended to disconnect electrical connections prior to disconnecting fuel linesDisconnect ignition coil connectorInstall hose pincher (PN 295 000 076) on engine outlet hose then unplug hose
