Check timing chain on camshaft timing gear for excessive radial playCheck chain condition for wear and rollers condition

Removal
Remove: engine from vehicle (refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION) water pump housing (refer to COOLING SYSTEM) magneto cover and rotor (refer to MAGNETO SYSTEM) output shaft (refer to GEARBOX) cylinder and piston (refer to CYLINDER AND HEAD)Measure axial clearance of the crankshaft no1 with feeler gauge on the PTO side between PTO crankcase and shim no2
