STEERING COLUMN
Removal
Remove: front facia and dashboard (refer to BODY) handlebar fuel tank (refer to FUEL CIRCUIT) NOTE: Do not remove fuel tank completely, separate fuel tank from frame onlyDo not remove fuel lines headlight (refer to ACCESSORIES) oil tank (refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION) cotter pin no18 (discard), castellated nut no19, flat washer no20 and washer no21 to bottom end of steering column no22Separate steering column and tie-rods no23Refer to TIE-ROD sectionRemove half housing bolts no24, stopper plates no25, half housings no26 and housing bushings no27Pull steering column
Inspection
Inspect ball joint ends no32 for wear or looseness, if excessive, replace
Installation
For the installation, reverse the removal procedurePay attention to the following detailsAt the time of the reinstallation or the new tierod(s) installation, screw threaded end of tie-rod into ball jointNOTE: Match the corresponding left or right threads of tie rod end with ball joint The maximum length for tie-rod groove to ball joint end must be the value in the following chart:
