Inspection
Check for crack between valve seats or other damage, if so, replace cylinder head

Valve Clearance Refer to MAINTENANCELUBRICATIONValve Inspect valve surface, check for abnormal stem wear and bendingIf so, replace by new oneValve Stem Check valve stem for wear or friction surfaces, if so, replace partsMeasure valve stem in three places, using micrometerVALVE STEM DIAMETER SERVICE LIMIT Exhaust Intake 5.935 mm (.233 in) 5.95 mm (.234 in)
Installation
For installation, reverse the removal procedurePay attention to the following detailsFitting cylinder head gasketSlide timing chain through chain ductFirst, tighten nuts no20 crosswiseInstall and torque bolts no19Tighten socket screws no18 on cylinder baseInstall camshafts

Removal
Remove: cylinder head no21 valve tappet no23Compress valve spring, use spring compressor (PN 529 035 724) and compressor cup (PN 529 035 725)Remove valve cotters no24Remove spring compressor, valve spring retainer no25 and valve spring no26
