Section 05 ELECTRICAL Subsection 04 (STARTING SYSTEM)
If solenoid does not properly receive current, the electronic module can be suspectedSee Electronic Module section belowIf solenoid receives current, test the solenoid as followsDisconnect large cables from solenoidInspect connections and clean as necessarySolenoid condition can be checked with an ohmmeterInstall test probes on large connectors of solenoidMeasure resistance when current is applied to small connectors; if it is more than few ohms, replace solenoidIf solenoid test good, check the electric starterIf starter test good, the electronic module can be suspectedSee Electronic Module below
ELECTRIC STARTER REMOVAL
Turn OFF ignition switchDisconnect BLACK cable ground connection from battery
WARNING
Always disconnect ground cable first and reconnect lastDisconnect RED cable connection from batteryClean starter areaRemove starter mount screwsPull starter out
