STARTING SYSTEM
BATTERY TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM: DISCHARGED OR WEAK BATTERY CAUSE REMEDY
Apply load of times the ampere-hour rating of the batteryAt 14 seconds into the test, check battery voltage; if battery is in good condition, it will have at least 10.5 Vdc
1Battery posts andor cable Clean and coat with dieterminal oxidizedlectric grease2Loose or bad connectionsCheck wiring and connector cleanliness, damaged or short circuit3Faulty battery Replace(doesn't keep full charge loose rectifier)4Main system fuse burnt or First check charging sysfaulty voltage regulator temIf it is in good conrectifier dition replace fuse or rectifier5Faulty charging system ge- Replacenerator coil

REMOVAL
Disconnect negative BLACK cable first then positive cable
WARNING
Always respect this order for disassembly; disconnect BLACK negative cable firstElectrolyte or fuel vapors can be present in engine compartment and spark may ignite them and possibly cause personal injuriesRemove bolts retaining battery holder from rack
