Section 03 ENGINE Subsection 08 (CLUTCH)
CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT
The clutch adjustment is necessary after any works in the clutch systemRefer to MAINTENANCE for procedure
2, PRESSURE PLATE BEARING
Inspection
Pressure plate bearing must have full freedom of movementIf not, change the bearingCheck spline on clutch actuator rack no11Change if necessary
1, PRESSURE PLATE
NOTE: It's not necessary to remove engine from vehicle to disassemble the clutch
Disassembly
Remove the retaining ring no12 with retaining ring pliersHeat pressure plate to 80C (176F) then remove pressure plate bearing
Removal
Drain engine oil and coolantDetach clutch cableRemove: starter water pump cover no7 LH engine housing cover no8Unfasten screws no9, retaining clutch spring no10 and pressure plate, crosswise
Assembly
For assembly, reverse the disassembly orderCAUTION: Never pull clutch release lever backwards when the engine is hotThe pressure plate bearing may come out of pressure plate
