Section 04 FUEL SYSTEM (CARBURETOR AND FUEL PUMP)

Remove top cover from carburetorDetach diaphragm from carburetor body, then pull out throttle slideWith choke lever at fully closed position, choke plunger must be fully closedWith lever halfway, plunger must be opened to specification and with lever completely opened, plunger must be openedSee next photos for proper choke lever and plunger positioning
Pilot Screw Adjustment
NOTE: The pilot screw is factory pre-setAdjustment is not necessary unless the carburetor is overhauled or replacedWarm the engine to operating temperatureTurn the pilot screw clockwise until you hear the engine misses or decreases air speed, then turn counterclockwise until the engine again misses or decreases air speedCenter the pilot screw exactly between these too extreme positionsIf idle speed changes after adjustment of the pilot screw, readjust the idle speed screw
