4Check boot clamps for security
Steering Assembly (XTXXTZ)
REMOVING
NOTE: The EPS assembly must be removed prior to removing the steering assembly (see Electronic Power Steering (EPS) in this section)
5Check that the steering assembly operates smoothly with no binding from full-left to full-right position6Inspect for grease seepage from the steering assemblyNOTE: The steering assembly (rack and pinion) is not repairable and must be replaced as an assembly; however, the tie rods and boots are replaceable
1Remove the EPS assembly; then remove the right front wheel2Remove the cotter pins and nuts securing the tie rod ends to the knuckles; then remove the tie rod ends from the knuckles
INSTALLING
1From the left side, install the steering assembly to the frame assembly and secure with two cap screwsTighten to 35 ft-lb2Install the EPS cradle bracket and secure with four cap screwsDo not tighten the cap screws at this time
