5Install the wheelTighten to 80 ft-lb (aluminum wheels) or to 45 ft-lb (steel wheels)6Remove the vehicle from the support stand and release the parking brake Rear Gear Case
REMOVING
NOTE: Release the cargo box latch and allow the cargo box to tilt back; then remove the cargo box lift support by removing the cap screw and nut securing the lower lift support to the frameThe cargo box will tilt fully rearward
INSTALLING FRONT DRIVE AXLE
1Push the axle shaft into the CV coupler to release the lock ring; then position the drive axle in the gear case and steering knuckle; then insert the ball joints into the steering knucklesSecure with cap screws tightened to 35 ft-lb2Secure the lower shock eyelet to the A-arm with cap screw and new lock nutTighten to 33 ft-lb3Slide the hub wbrake disc into position in the steering knuckle followed by an axle nutFinger-tighten at this time4Install the brake caliper on the steering knuckle using new "patch-lock" cap screwsTighten to 20 ft-lb5Set the parking brake; then turn the ignition switch to the ON position, select LOCK on the drive select switchTurn the ignition switch to the OFF position6Tighten the axle nut (from step 3) to 200 ft-lb; then install and spread new cotter pin making sure each side of the pin is flush to the hub nut
