RESISTANCE (AC Generator) CAUTION Always disconnect the battery when performing resistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeter
3Connect the battery
TESTING VOLTAGE
Perform this test on the starter motor positive terminalTo access the terminal, slide the boot awayNOTE: The ignition switch must be in the ON position, and the shift lever in the NEUTRAL position
1Set the meter selector to OHMS position2Test between the three yellow wires (H1) or the three black wires (H2) for total of three tests3The meter reading must be within specification
1Set the meter selector to the DC Voltage position2Connect the red tester lead to the starter terminal; then connect the black tester lead to ground3With the starter button depressed, the meter must show battery voltage and the starter motor should operate
RESISTANCE (Crankshaft Position Sensor)
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to the blue wire; then connect the black tester lead to the green wireThe meter reading must be within specification
