Drive Select Switch RESISTANCE
1Remove the switch assembly from the dash; then disconnect the harness from the switchNOTE: The switch can be removed from the dash using thin, flat pry bar or suitable putty knifeIt is not necessary to remove the dash to remove the switch
Reverse Override Switch
VOLTAGE
NOTE: To perform the following tests, the ignition switch must be in the ON position and the transmission shifted into reverse gear
2Using an ohmmeter, the following readings must be observed
1Connect the red meter lead to the blackblue wire and the black meter lead to suitable ground; then select 2WD on the drive select switchThe meter must show approximately 1.5 DC volts2Depress the reverse override switchThe meter showing should not change from step 13Select 4WD on the drive select switchThe meter must show approximately DC volts4Depress the reverse override switchThe meter must show approximately 1.5 DC volts5Connect the red meter lead to the redyellow wireThe meter must show approximately 1.5 DC voltsDepress the reverse override switchThe meter must show approximately 1.5 DC volts6Connect the red meter lead to the redgreen wireThe meter should show DC volts
