28Install the four top side cap screws with rubber washers; then install the remaining cap screwsTighten only until snug

1Remove the four screws securing the outer magneto cover to the right-side cover; then remove the coverAccount for the gasket2Remove the flange nut securing the spacer to the crankshaft; then remove the spacerAccount for the O-ring
29In crisscross pattern starting from the center and working outward, tighten the cap screws (from step 28) to 8.5 ft-lb30Adjust valvetappet clearance (see Section 2)31Place the two tappet covers into position making sure the proper cap screws are with the proper coverTighten the cap screws to ft-lb
