3Push the valve from side to side; then from top to bottom4Maximum "wobble" deflection must not exceed specifications
2Insert each valve into its original location3Install the valve springs with the painted end of the spring facing away from the cylinder headNOTE: If the paint is not visible, install the ends of the springs with the closest wound coils toward the head
Measuring Valve Guide (Inside Diameter)
1Insert suitable bore gauge 12 way into each valve guide bore and record the measurement2Acceptable inside diameter range must be within specifications3If valve guide is out of tolerance, it must be replaced
Servicing ValvesValve GuidesValve Seats
If valves, valve guides, or valve seats require servicing or replacement, Arctic Cat recommends the components be taken to qualified machine shop for servicingATV-1011A

If valves are discolored or pitted or if the seating surface is worn, the valve must be replacedDo not attempt to grind the valves or severe engine damage may occur
