NOTE: If the meter shows more than ohm of resistance, troubleshoot or replace the switchcomponent, the connector, or the switch wiring harness 3Connect the red tester lead to the white wire on the harness side of the connector4Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position5The meter must show 12 DC voltsNOTE: If the meter shows other than specified, check the harness, connector, 30 amp fuse, and battery connections
RESISTANCE (Reverse Override) The connector is the four-prong white one next to the steering postTo access the connector, the front rack and front fenders must be removed (see Section 8)
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to one redyellow wire; then connect the black tester wire to the other redyellow wireThe meter must show less than ohm3Depress and hold the reverse override buttonThe meter must show an open circuit4Connect the red tester lead to the blue wire; then connect the black meter lead to the black wireThe meter must show an open circuit5Depress and hold the reverse override buttonThe meter must show less than ohmNOTE: If the meter does not show as specified, replace the switchcomponent, connector, or switch harness
