NOTE: At this point, the rocker arms and adjuster screws must not have pressure on them 29Install the four top side cap screws with rubber washers; then install the remaining cap screwsTighten only until snug
30In crisscross pattern starting from the center and working outward, tighten the cap screws (from step 29) to 8.5 ft-lb31Adjust valvetappet clearance (see Section 2)CD471
26Loosen the four adjuster screw jam nuts; then loosen the four adjuster screws on the rocker arms in the valve cover
32Place the two tappet covers into position making sure the proper cap screws are with the proper coverTighten the cap screws securely
