Backlash NOTE: Always set backlash prior to any other shimming
1Install the existing shim or 0.051-0.055-inshim on the gear case side of the ring gear assembly
7Secure the pinion gear in bearing puller; then remove the pinion bearing using pressAccount for collar and bearingGC031A
2Install the ring gear with shim in the gear case; then while holding the pinion stationary, rock the ring gear forward and back to determine if any backlash existsIf no backlash exists, install thicker shim and recheck
