Voltage (Headlights)
RegulatorRectifier
The regulatorrectifier is located under the front rack and front fenders above the oil cooler
NOTE: Perform this test on the main harness side of the connectorsAlso, the ignition switch must be in the LIGHTS position
1Set the meter selector to the DC Voltage position2Connect the black tester lead to the black wire; then connect the red tester lead to the white wire3With the dimmer switch in the LO position, the meter must show battery voltage4Remove the red tester lead from the white wire and connect to the lavender wire5With the dimmer switch in the HI position, the meter must show battery voltageNOTE: If battery voltage is not shown in any test, inspect the fuses, battery, main wiring harness, connectors, or the left handlebar switch
