6Install starter idler gear (No2) and starter idler gear (No1) Removing Right-Side Components
AV-Belt Cover BDriven Pulley CClutch Cover
1If the engine is still in the frame, remove the cap screw securing the brake pedal to the pivot shaftAccount for flat washer
7Place the key into its notch; then slide the rotor flywheel (with the ring gear in place) over the crankshaftTighten the nut to 107 ft-lb
NOTE: Steps 1-7 in the preceding sub-section must precede this procedure
8Install two alignment pins and place the left-side cover gasket into positionInstall the left-side coverNoting the different-lengthed mm cap screws, the position of the shifter bracket, and the location of the long cap screw with the washer, tighten cap screws in crisscross pattern to ft-lb9Place the outer magneto cover into position on the left-side cover; then install and tighten the four cap screws securely
2Remove the cap screws securing the V-belt cover to the clutch cover; then slide the brake pedal outward and remove the V-belt coverAccount for two alignment pins and gasket
