NOTE: If the meter shows battery voltage, the main wiring harness is good; proceed to test the switch component, the connector, and the switch wiring harness for resistance Fuse Holder
The main (20 amp) fuse is located under the batter cover under the seatNOTE: To remove the fuse, compress the locking tabs on either side of the fuse case and lift out
RESISTANCE (Switch Connector) CAUTION
Always disconnect the battery when performing resistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeter
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to the black wire; then connect the black tester lead to the greenyellow wire3When the brake lever is compressed, the meter must show less than ohmNOTE: If the meter shows more than ohm of resistance, replace the switch
If the fuse is blown, the fuse element will be visibly burned and separatedAttempt to determine the cause of the blown fuse and install new fuse of the same amperage
CAUTION
Always replace blown fuse with fuse of the same type and ratingReplacing blown fuse with different rating can cause severe electrical wiring damage or fire could occur
