3Slide the hub wbrake disc into position in the steering knuckle followed by an axle nutFinger-tighten at this time4Install the brake caliper on the steering knuckle using new "patch-lock" cap screwsTighten to 20 ft-lb5Set the parking brake; then turn the ignition switch to the ON position, select LOCK on the drive select switchTurn the ignition switch to the OFF position6Tighten the axle nut (from step 3) to 200 ft-lb; then install and spread new cotter pin making sure each side of the pin is flush to the hub nutCD024
8Inspect the axle components for correct positioning of the four clampsAlso, inspect the boots for being correctly positioned on the shaftINSTALLING REAR DRIVE AXLE 1Slide the drive axle into place in the gear caseNOTE: To ensure proper axle seating, give it light pull; the axle should remain "clipped" in place
2Swing the knuckle up and onto the drive axle; then place the knuckle into place in the upper A-armSecure the knuckle to the A-arm with cap screw and new lock nutTighten to 35 ft-lb3Place the hub into position on the axle followed by hex nutTighten the hex nut finger-tight at this time4Tighten the hub hex nut (from step 3) to 200 ft-lb; then install and spread new cotter pin making sure each side of the pin is flush to the hub nut
