7Place the input shaft assembly onto the pinion housing; then secure with the existing cap screwsTighten to 23 ft-lbNOTE: If new housing is being installed, tighten the cap screws to 28 ft-lb
10Apply liberal coat of grease to the O-ring; then install it on the assembled cover assembly making sure to seat the O-ring completely down around the circumference of the bearing flangeCD103

8Install the proper shim onto the ring gear spider assembly making sure the chamfer side of the shim is facing toward the ring gearInstall the ring gear in the housing; then install the outside shim with the chamfer side of the shim toward the ring gearNOTE: The spider and ring gear assembly must be replaced as complete unit
11Making sure the O-ring is properly positioned on the differential housing cover assembly, install the cover with existing hardware (with green Loctite #609)Account for the ID tagTighten the cap screws to 23 ft-lbNOTE: Grease can be applied to the O-ring for ease of assemblingNOTE: If new housing is being installed, tighten the cap screws to 28 ft-lb
