Removing Valves NOTE: Keep all valves and valve components as setNote the original location of each valve set for use during installationReturn each valve set to its original location during installation
2Maximum runout must not exceed specificationsMeasuring Valve Stem Outside Diameter 1Using micrometer, measure the valve stem outside diameter2Acceptable diameter range (intake valve) must be within specifications3Acceptable diameter range (exhaust valve) must be within specificationsMeasuring Valve FaceSeat Width 1Using micrometer, measure the width of the valve face
1Using valve spring compressor, compress the valve springs and remove the valve cottersAccount for an upper spring retainer
2Remove the valve seal and the lower remaining spring seatDiscard the valve seal
