SECONDARY WINDING RESISTANCE 1Connect the red tester lead to the high tension lead (plug cap removed); then connect the black tester lead to suitable ground2The meter must read 2830-3170 ohmsNOTE: If the meter does not read as specified, replace the ignition coil
If there is any type of electrical system failure, always check the fuse first
SPARK PLUG CAP RESISTANCE 1Connect the red tester lead to one end of the cap; then connect the black tester lead to the other end of the cap2The meter must read 4725-5775 ohmsNOTE: If the meter does not read as specified, replace the spark plug cap
CAUTION
Always replace blown fuse with fuse of the same type and rating
CAUTION
Always disconnect the battery when performing resistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeter
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to one spade end of the fuse; then connect the black tester lead to the other spade end3The meter must read less than ohm resistanceIf the meter reads open, replace the fuseNOTE: Make sure the fuse is returned to its proper position according to amperage
