NOTE: If the meter shows battery voltage, the main wiring harness is goodThe connector should be checked for resistance RESISTANCE (Fan Motor Connector)

CAUTION
Always disconnect the battery when performing resistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeter
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position733-554E

3On the cooling fan switch when the temperature reaches 86-90 (187-194 F), the meter should read closed circuitOn the coolant temperature sensor when the temperature reaches 120 (218 F), the meter should read 16.0 ohms4Allow the oil to coolOn the cooling fan switch when the temperature is within range of 80-85 (176-185 F), the meter should read an open circuitOn the coolant temperature sensor, monitor the temperature and resistance as the oil coolsAt 100 (212 F) the meter should read 27 ohms, at 80 (176 F) 52 ohms, and at 50 (122 F) 154 ohms5If the readings are not as indicated, the switch must be replaced6Install the switch and tighten securely7Connect the switch leads
